This ballsy new Honda NSX is brought to you by a fairly low-key tuner in Barcelona who are about to get the publicity they deserve. Pictures are being circulated around the internet like a Paris Hilton sex tape and here’s what the fuss is all about…
Helped along by some big names, it has the brutal underground look off to a tee. Giving the exterior a pearly white paint job and some squared off extra inches were the initial tasks. Of course anyone who has been on the scene long enough will recognise that Veilside Fortune body kit from a mile off. Contrasted against the black light housings and black 20” Konig Controlee rims wrapped in Toyo Proxe R’s, its visuals are striking but safe enough to appeal to a wide audience. Its neat aerodynamic wing mirrors, deep mesh air intakes and minimal stickers keep the look tidy as well as being distinctively sporty.
This NSX is clearly most at home on a wet track, smoking the tyres with some lock to lock shenanigans however because it’s a showcase car, the team can’t go too wild. That’s where the computer game comes in handy, the special effects in NFS Pro Street are the most sophisticated yet and the car’s handle much more realistically. They still haven’t managed to simulate the awesome brakes on cars like this NSX though – the Brembo variety with four pots front and rear are as crisp as you like.
The engine in Prototype Shop’s latest project car is also quite a gem; a few key enhancements like a plus 12 CV Unitronic chip, carbon fibre air filter and an Artesanal muffler with a direct line is enough to entertain any other unsuspecting road users. Then at night with its white LED illumination kit, it looks like a spaceship hurtling through the streets of Barcelona.
You may well hear it coming before you see it though as there’s an expensive array of kit from Pioneer inside the cabin, no PS2 install though, surprisingly. What with all the carbon fibre, Recaro bucket seats, Mugen steering wheel and the OBX gear knob there’s no doubt this is the real thing and its great to see the Spanish tuning scene churning out beauties like this.
